A few months ago, I began to think of ways I could bless others through the Batchmaker. I didn’t want to commit to something steady like give a percentage of the profits to a single organization because I wanted to also be able to bless multiple people (not necessarily tied to an organization), so the blessings can vary from time to time. So I thought of doing a little project or blessing every month with my profit side of the Batchmaker in hopes to encourage you to live a life where kindness always wins and also, so you can catch a glimpse of how your money is blessing others.
Why am I going out of my way to tell you this? Because one of my biggest passions in life is to lead with kindness and generosity. What does this mean? It means that paying for someone’s $4 coffee might not seem like a big deal to you but those $4 can change that person’s life. It means that a compliment or a text can change a person’s day and it takes 2 seconds to do it. It means blessing people even though you’ve been burned or feel like they don’t deserve it- bless them harder and do it with a smile. It means that I am going out of my way to lead my children to grow up to be kind because they saw me serving others. Because we need more of all of this in this world.
I began with this in September. I was able to bless two people with cakes. One of them was a single mother who is doing an amazing job at raising her little. I knew instantly as her babe’s birthday came close I wanted to make the smash cake and birthday cake for them.
In October, we brought treats to our local firemen because they’re awesome, and because they are a phone call away ready to serve us (and from experience, ehm…experiences… they ALWAYS do it with a smile on their face). It was such a neat experience to explain to Josefina that they help us stay safe and feel safe and we GET to bless and love on them with treats and high fives.
Why am I telling you all of this? Because I want you to know where ten percent of my profits go? No! Because I want you to join me! Kindness needs to be spread constantly, daily and without ceasing. Because I hope some of the stories I share on this platform will encourage you- the same way I am constantly encouraged by others and their stories.
I had written this post a few days ago, and am adding this today to note that my heart is just shattered with all the mass shootings. I could re-post a picture saying Im praying and asking people to pray with us, to pray for the families who lost their loved ones, to pray for this to end. Sure, I believe prayers can move mountains, but more than ever- we need to be a source of light in this world. We need to be a reflection of kindness and goodness now more than ever.
